Description: 11TH July was celebrated as Van Mahotsav in our school. This ‘festival of trees’ and thus this ‘festival of life’ marks a week of tree plantation and other such activities. The celebration began with an assembly in the morning, conducted by the Nature Club. In the beginning, a Tulsi sapling was presented to the Principal. We were given a little information on how this festival came into being but the focus was on the scenario today. There was a beautiful dance in which the girls gracefully portrayed the extreme happiness one feels on the arrival of the clouds which signify the coming of rain. Then there was a prayer which was an appeal to God to shower his blessings in the form of rain. The assembly ended with a Power Point presentation which gave the message ‘Lets plant trees and celebrate life’. Later in the day, there were different activities for different classes. Classes 6 and 7 had drawing and painting competition, Class 8 had slogan writing, Classes 9 and 10 had poetry writing and Classes 11 and 12 had the making of the Power Point presentations. The topic was basically the same for all , ‘Save Trees, Save The Planet’. Each and everyone was filled with high spirit and did their part to show their concern towards Mother Nature. Thus, the celebration came to an end.
