GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
  • School discipline is intended to create an environment, which assists the self-development of students. Enrolment in this school implies on the part of the pupil and parents a willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
  • Pupils are expected to behave in a lady-like manner on all occasions. They should address their teachers and companions with gentleness and courtesy. Refinement of manners, uprightness and self-restraint should distinguish every pupil of the school.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or conduct injurious to the tone of the school is sufficient reason for the dismissal of a pupil. Pupils are answerable to the school authorities for their moral tone and conduct even outside the school.
  • The Principal has the right to suspend attendance or require the withdrawal of any pupil without having to assign any reasons; provided that she is satisfied that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.
  • Pupils must wear the correct uniform; otherwise they are liable to be excluded from the classroom. No jewellery except a wristwatch may be worn.
  • Every pupil is expected to contribute towards small school shows and local charities.
  • No books, invitations, periodicals, pictures, newspapers, cameras, mobiles or expensive items like pens, pencil boxes, water- bottles etc. shall be brought into the school or circulated among the students without the permission of the Principal. This is detrimental to the value system of the school. The school will not be held responsible for the safe custody of any such item. Personal property e.g. books; cardigans, bags etc. should bear the name of the owner.
  • Pupils are permitted to wear a Simple Dress (Pre-Prep to Class IV) and to give sweets only on their birthdays. There is to be no collection of money or distribution of gifts without the permission of the Principal. Pupils are not permitted to give personal gifts to member of the staff.
  • Every pupil is expected to take part in all school activities. This regulation also applies when such activities take place out of the usual school hours.
  • No pupil may leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal or Section Mistress and required gate pass. Any change in the usual method of transport at the end of the school day must be indicated in writing. Regular Lunch Passes and Special Passes will be issued only at the written request of the parents. The observation of this regulation is of vital importance for the safety of the children and for school discipline.
  • Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings, which should be clearly marked with the child’s name. All damage to school property must be repaired at the cost of the person responsible for the damage.
  • Pupils who have been absent from class or who come to class late must have the reason entered in the regularity record stating briefly the cause of the absence or delay (reasons of a private nature may be submitted in a letter).
  • Reports on general progress will be sent to parents during the year. These should be studied carefully and returned to the school authorities signed by a parent or a guardian. Promotions are granted on the basis of the whole year’s work. The decision of the school authorities with regards to promotion is FINAL.
