Description: 'VAN MAHOTSAV' was initiatd in the year 1950 by Mr. K.M. Munslin, the then Union Minister for Agriculture and Food to create an enthusiasm in the mind of populace for the conservation of forests and planting of trees . It is an annual plan ,occupying a week in the month of July.
The Junior School of Loreto Convent ,Ranchi celebrated Van Mahotsava on 11th July. In the morning assembly ,cultural programme was held in which
-the class V had a Dance ,
-the II's did the prayer service
which was followed by
- a poem from Pre-Prep and Prep.
- The III's showed through a skit about "Importance of Plants" .
-The IV's had the Elocution and
lastly
- an action Song was sung by I's.
In the afternoon, an Activity was organised in which
the class II made Book Marks with dry leaves,
the III's did Collge Work,the IV;s did Drawing And Colouring and wrote a Slogan .
Thae V's painted old T-sHIRTS.
The children also planted the medicinal plants.
