Description: A parents meet was organised for classes 9 A, 9 B, 9 C on 11th of July 2017 in the Teresa Ball – Hall at 8:15 a.m. It began in a serene environment with a “prayer-service” presented by the students of class 9. A skit based on Parent -Child behavior and its effect was presented. Comparing the child with other child negatively bring demotivation to a child and put her in wrong path – this was enacted by students and the positive reinforcements they receive or would love to receive were showcased through colourful placards, which was followed by a meaningful song. Sister Monica Rozario, Our Principal took the stage thereafter and gave a motivation talk to all the parents and students present there. She spoke on various topics of concern both for parents and students. The important one are as follows: a. Our Foundress Mary Ward and her visions. b. History of Loreto school in India c. Work of Loreto and its branches in south East Asia. d. Our commitment for all-round development of our students. e. Children – Parents Relationship. • Devoting more time in the family. • Talking constructive things. • Avoiding comparison among the siblings. • Avoiding, talking negative things. • Providing needs for the child but not the wants which are unnecessary. • Inspect – Suspect - doubt should be there and parents should not blindly trust their children. • Help their children in every way possible – in their studies atleast by enquiring everyday’s progress. • Avoid providing smart phones which is the biggest distraction in a students life. • It is important to bring positivity in home environment for the child’s academic performance. • Parents should work on the soft skills of the child, as we here in school are doing with them. It is together with our sincere efforts and support we can make our students world more rewarding and even more gratifying. With these positive notes the session ended successfully, at around 9:30 a.m.
