Teacher’s Day was celebrated on 5th September with great enthusiasm to honour our teachers. The day began with a Holy Mass on the theme “Educators – Beacons of Wisdom and Light,” celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ajit Xess SJ, Provincial of the Jesuits, Ranchi Province.

In his homily, Fr. Ajit reminded the teachers that “You chose to be here for a very special reason, and you should also know why you are here.” He emphasized that Loreto is very special, and the children under their care are precious gifts. Quoting Nelson Mandela’s words, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” and echoing Malala Yousafzai’s call for empowering children through learning, he underlined the transformative power of education and the vital role of teachers as nation-builders.

This was followed by a cultural programme themed “Timeless Tribute to Timeless Teachers” with songs, dances, and a skit highlighting the irreplaceable role of teachers even in the age of Artificial Intelligence. Teachers were presented with gifts and enjoyed fun-filled games. A Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Basu, and the celebration concluded with a special address by our Principal, Sr. Clara, appreciating the dedication of teachers
