On the occasion of the Annual Sports Day held on 7th December 2013 the children of the Junior School of Loreto Convent (Pre-Prep to V) showcased their physical finesse in a skilful manner to the best of their ability. The children dressed in different cartoon characters depicted cartoon world not only entertained the audience but also enthralled them with their rhythmic movements. Mr. Rezi Dungdung, Additional Director of Police, Special Branch, Ranchi was the guest of honour for the occasion. The programme started with a beautiful rendition of the song Vande Mataram. The children of classes 3, 4 and 5 very enthusiastically performed the mass drill to the beautiful blend of drum and rhythmic movement of hand and feet. The tiny-tots of Pre-Prep and Prep dressed in coloured T-shirts holding colourful hoops in their hands displayed their fitness mantra which made the audience absolutely speechless. The little Donalds, Mickies, Minnies, Tweeties, Popeye sans Chota Bheem of Classes I and II captivated the audience by stimulating movement in their drill entitled ‘Cartoon Lineup’. The young acrobats of Class III very skillfully presented their acrobatic movement on the balancing beams. This added an extra beastly to the show. The exquisite formation of pyramids by the students of Class IV mesmerized the hearts of the audience. The art of Karate was very well displayed by the students of Class V with full zeal and enthusiasm. Different races were also held by the children of all the classes Pre-Prep to Class V to ensure and promote physical fitness. An inspirational speech was delivered by the Chief Guest Mr. Rezi Dungdung who encouraged and appreciated the children at their outstanding performance. The vote of thanks was given by the Principal Sr. Anjuman. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
